Dr. Natalia Kubicki is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She is a board certified and fellowship trained bariatric and minimally invasive surgeon. She specializes in a range of weight loss operations including laparoscopic and robotic gastric bypass surgery, sleeve gastrectomy and revisional bariatric surgery. In addition to bariatric surgery, her areas of expertise also include endoscopy procedures, hernia repair, gallbladder surgery and anti-reflux surgery.
Dr. Kubicki attended the University of Pittsburgh for her undergraduate education and received her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She then completed a general surgery residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center prior to a fellowship in advanced gastrointestinal minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Indiana University before returning to Maryland. She is a recipient of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Certificate of Acknowledgement of Satisfactory Training in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery for Fellows, which recognizes surgeons who have satisfactorily completed their training and have met the educational requirements needed to practice safe and effective bariatric surgery.
Dr. Kubicki is active both in the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. She is also the associate director for the University of Maryland surgical residency program. Her interests include surgical education, resident wellness, patient safety, and quality improvement in bariatric surgical outcomes.
