Community College Tuition Assistance Incentive Program

University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) is committed to improving health outcomes for communities across Maryland and supporting new community college graduates seeking careers in health care.

The UMMS Community College Tuition Assistance Incentive Program will provide successful applicants with one-time awards to reimburse community college tuition in exchange for work commitments at an UMMS member organization.

Program Details

Position Award Amount & Work Commitment
RN $12,000 for a 2-year commitment
Other Clinical Roles $5,000 for a 1-year commitment

Who is eligible to apply?

Individuals that have full-time roles with UMMS and have graduated from a Maryland Community College. New employees and current employees are eligible to apply.

When is the application deadline?

Applications will be accepted from eligible new hires on a rolling basis.

When will I receive the award?

Selected recipients will receive payment within 30 days of showing proof of successful completion of orientation and required licensure or certification.

When does the work commitment begin?

The work commitment begins after completion of the necessary licensures or certifications and unit orientation, which is typically two to four months after a team member's official start date.
