Departmental Scope of Services

Surgery Services unit contains the following designated space:

• 4 operating rooms
• 1 minor procedure room
• 1 endoscopy room
• 13 private same-day surgery rooms
• 11 PACU bays
• Central sterile supply

• colorectal surgery
• general surgery
• gynecology
• orthopedics
• peripheral vascular thoracic surgery
• podiatry
• spine
• urology

Overview of Department Services

The Surgery Services team works in conjunction with the following departments:

• Anesthesia
• Clinical surgery support
• Surgical prep
• Supply chain
• Sterile processing
• Surgery

Our team provides a complete pre-operative assessment and plan of care for the day of surgery. This plan is evaluated on a continual basis based on the patient's response and the needs of the surgical team.

Staffing Model

Staffing is managed in accordance with the recommendations of the Association of Operating Room Nurses. A registered nurse circulator is provided for every procedure. The scrub role may be assumed by either an RN or Surgical Technologist.
