Departmental Scope of Services
UM Charles Regional Medical Center is a designated Primary Stroke Center and the Imaging department is a key member of the stroke team. The department offers services 24-hours a day to emergency patients as well as inpatients. Outpatient services are available Monday through Friday from 7 am until 5 pm.
The goal of the Imaging Department is to ensure that all patients receive the highest quality care in the most expedient and professional manner possible.
Departmental modalities include CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Echocardiography, Nuclear Medicine, Interventional Radiology, and X-ray. Recent equipment additions include a stereotactic unit for breast procedures that provides accurate lesion localization and the prone biopsy system, which is designed to give patient’s physical and emotional comfort by eliminating view of the procedure.

- CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine are all fully accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR)
