Responsible for the planning, organizing and directing the Medical System’s corporate contracting activities with a focus on total supply chain costs, quality and process improvements, establishing supply chain management and strategic sourcing as a core competency and an opportunity for innovation, extended system integration and strategic planning.

  3. Proactive support of MWBE Program Management
  4. Proactive support of UMMS CQVA Program

Contracting Process Steps

  1. Identify UMMS needs
  2. Confirm source selection
  3. Develop and release request for proposal (RFP)
  4. Eliminate unacceptable proposals
  5. Evaluate potentially acceptable proposals
  6. Optimize proposals
  7. Obtain best and final offer (BAFO)
  8. Negotiate contracts and finalize awards
  9. Communicate and launch agreement(s)

The time frame for completing a contract varies depending on complexity.  An average guideline is from six (6) to nine (9) months.
