The Lung Cancer Service at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center is committed to providing the best care available for patients with lung cancer, mesothelioma or other cancers of the chest. Our goal is to provide our patients with the best possible outcomes and the highest quality of life during treatment. Our specialists have expertise in treating all cancers of the chest, including the following:

We take a true multi-disciplinary approach to care. This means that our patients benefit from the expertise of every member of our team. The team meets twice a week to evaluate patient profiles, review and discuss treatment plans and examine new innovative treatments that could be beneficial to patients. They work together throughout the treatment process to ensure that care is well-coordinated and patients have access to the latest proven treatments and clinical trials within a supportive environment. Through this approach, our patients receive the highly individualized program of care they need while undergoing treatment, including complex and aggressive therapies.
Superior Pre- and Post-surgical Care
Patients undergoing surgery-based treatments are cared for in a state-of-the-art specialized thoracic nursing unit designed to provide the intensive, high quality and compassionate care required after routine and complex thoracic surgical procedures. Our Thoracic Intermediate Care Unit is the region’s first and only fully integrated unit dedicated solely to the care of general thoracic surgical patients.
