New Grade for spring 2024 is a national recognition for patient safety.
LA PLATA, MD (May 1, 2024) – University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center a member organization of the University of Maryland Medical System, earned an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care. Leapfrog assigns an "A," "B," "C," "D" or "F" grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
"I'm proud of our entire hospital team for their dedication to upholding high standards of safety and constantly looking for ways to further improve both patient and staff safety as well as patient outcomes," said Noel Cervino, President and CEO of UM Charles Regional. "It takes complete dedication to deliver a better state of care."
"This achievement also reflects our dedication to the values shared throughout the University of Maryland Medical System: compassion, discovery, excellence, diversity, integrity," Cervino added.
"Everyone who works at UM Charles Regional should be proud of this 'A' Hospital Safety Grade," said Leah Binder, President and CEO of The Leapfrog Group.
