Red (Visitors Not Permitted)

At the red level, visitation is not permitted, with some exceptions.

Inpatient Visitation

No care partners are permitted for both COVID and non-COVID patients, with these exceptions:

Religious Services

Non-COVID patients may receive religious services from the clergy of their choice at any reasonable time if this can be provided without disruption to their or other patients' care.

COVID-positive patients or those under investigation for COVID may receive religious services in compassionate care circumstances or at the end of life.

Patients Under the Age of 18

For children, including those who are COVID-positive, one parent or guardian is allowed.

People With Disabilities

Individuals with disabilities, including those who are COVID-positive, may have one designated support person with them, including overnight.

Obstetrics

Patients in labor, including COVID-positive patients, are allowed to have one care partner, which may be their partner or another designated support person such as a birth coach or doula.

Patients at the End of Life

End of life is defined as when death is anticipated within the next 24 hours or the patient is receiving inpatient hospice.

Patients Not Confirmed or Suspected to Have COVID

Up to two care partners are permitted at the bedside at any one time; a maximum of nine individuals may be identified as care partners.

COVID Patients and Patients Under Investigation for COVID

  • Up to two care partners are permitted at the bedside at any one time; a maximum of nine care partners may be identified for visitation privileges.
  • Patients may receive religious services in compassionate care circumstances or at the end of life.
  • The care partners and clergy must put on and take off the provided personal protective equipment (PPE) under the direction of unit staff.
  • Care partners for patients who are COVID-positive or under investigation for COVID must have reviewed the Acknowledgement of Risk Form.

Outpatient Appointments and Procedures

No care partners are permitted with the exception of a designated support person for an individual with disabilities and a parent of a minor child.
