About Me
Dr. York is a pediatric hematologist whose clinical interests include leukemia, lymphoma, methotrexate resistant cells and solid tumors as well as blood disorders and monitoring cancer survivors for late effects of their treatment.
Her research interests include relapsed leukemia and chemotherapy drug resistance.
Dr. York was named a "Top Doctor" in the specialty of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology by Baltimore magazine in 2020.
She graduated from West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric residency at West Virginia University Children’s Hospital in Morgantown, WV. This was followed by a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) in Charleston, SC. She worked as a clinical instructor of pediatric hematology/oncology at MUSC.
She then joined our team at the University of Maryland Children’s Hospital (UMCH) in 2004 as an assistant professor, and she currently serves as the division head and clinic director of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at UMCH.
