Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship

The Section of Interventional Pulmonology within the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at University of Maryland School of Medicine is pleased to offer a 12-month comprehensive subspecialty training program in Interventional Pulmonology (IP).

The fellowship provides structured training that meets or exceeds the minimum standards as set forth by the American Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology (AABIP) and the Association of Interventional Pulmonology Program Directors (AIPPD).

Since the ACGME does not yet accredit IP fellowships, this is a non-ACGME accredited program. However the fellowship is accredited by the AABIP/AIPPD Joint Interventional Pulmonology Fellowship Accreditation Committee. The program provides advanced training in IP following successful completion of an ACGME accredited two-year fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine or three-year fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.

Goals

The overall goals of our Fellowship Program is to provide comprehensive clinical training coupled with a broad range of research opportunities to create a strong foundation in Interventional Pulmonology.
