University of Maryland School of Medicine's Davidge Hall

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) fellowship program offers a comprehensive package of benefits:

Salary

Fellows paid on a bi-weekly schedule in accordance with the Office of Graduate Medical Education's salary structure.

An additional annual educational allowance expense is provided by the CAP Fellowship program.

Insurance Benefits

All fellows are provided with professional liability insurance through the University of Maryland Medical Center at no cost.

Health insurance, dental and vision insurance, disability, retirement and additional benefits are offered if you elect to participate. Life insurance is paid by the University of Maryland.

Vacation and Wellness

All fellows are allotted 20 vacation days annually.

We also recognize that graduate medical education can be a stressful time, and we developed a Wellness Program curriculum to focus on increasing resiliency and decreasing stress. Physical wellness is equally as important, which is why we provide subsidized memberships to our URec Fit gym on campus.

Finally, we practice what we preach: we focus on positive reinforcement with a token economy program. We’re here to teach compassion by employing those same tactics.

Additional Benefits

We have a collaborative relationship with our Adult Psychiatry program, so in-house overnight call is taken by adult psychiatry residents.

Annually, fellows provide approximately four weeks of back-up phone calls for urgent questions. Fellows only have to perform on-site evaluations during off-hours in the event of an emergency.

Additional benefits include:

  • Moonlighting and extra training opportunities
  • Free parking at all sites
  • Board Study Program for both Adult and Child Boards
  • Yearly book fund
  • Bonus incentives for on-time discharge summaries at University of Maryland
  • And more!
