The University of Maryland Medical Center's Division of Endocrine Surgery specializes in the management of benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.

Here, we have two of the nation's most experienced endocrine surgeons and a multidisciplinary team of endocrinologists, radiologists and pathologists who work together with patients to meet their surgical needs. These team members are part of a premier academic medical center, where experts are pioneering new treatments in a wide range of medical specialties. UMMC is also home to vital, cutting-edge research that gives patients more options.

The majority of endocrine conditions that require surgery are not cancerous. However, patients who are facing a cancer diagnosis are in good hands at the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center, of which our surgeons are a part. Designated as a comprehensive cancer center by the National Cancer Institute, UMGCCC is consistently ranked in the nation's top cancer centers by U.S. News and World Report. For more information about our surgical services for cancer, please visit the Endocrine Malignancies section of UMGCCC's website.
