Gynecological
Gynecology is quite literally... the study of women. Providing a full range of gynecological care that includes well-visits, contraception care, STD testing and counseling, treatment of pelvic disorders or pain and menopausal symptoms and treatment. Pre-natal and Obstetrics
Having a baby is one of life's most exciting experiences. At Upper Chesapeake Women's Care, we want your experience to be as happy and healthy as possible. Both before and during your pregnancy, our team will provide you with the information, care and support you need to keep both you and your baby healthy. Pre-natal care includes everything from fertility testing/treatment, blood tests, physical exams, ultrasounds, and discussions about lifestyle. During your office visits, we will review your personal care, healthy choices and exercises you can do during pregnancy, as well as begin to develop your individualized pre-natal health and birth plan. To help familiarize you with our care team and ensure your comfort, you will see all of the providers in our practice on a rotating basis. Our care team will address any questions or concerns at each pre-natal visit.
Gynecologic Oncology
Upper Chesapeake Women's Care provides care to women with pre-malignant conditions and complex gynecologic problems. If the need arises, the Kaufman Cancer Center at UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Bel Air features a highly specialized gynecologic oncologist specifically trained to treat gynecological cancers. Through collaboration with a team of specialists, they will develop an individualized care plan just for you. Breast Health
Our providers believe self-breast exams as well as annual mammograms are important screening tools in your breast health. During your yearly well-woman appointment, your doctor will discuss your health and lifestyle, perform a physical exam of your breasts and give you a physician order for your annual mammogram. The Breast Center at UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Bel Air is equipped to handle all of your breast health needs, including mammography, screening tests and any concerns you may have.
Urogynecology
Urogynecology is the care of a woman's pelvic floor and the disorders that can occur there. Although common, pelvic floor issues, such as urinary incontinence, can often be embarrassing. And with factors such as pregnancy and childbirth, changes with age, excess weight and family history being known causes, many women are likely to experience a problem at some point. The good news is that pelvic floor disorders are treatable. In addition to minimally invasive procedures, our team can also recommend specialized non-surgical and rehabilitative treatments that can strengthen weak muscles and successfully treat common pelvic floor issues.
