"Early Diagnosis & Living Beyond Breast Cancer" is the focus of a special presentation set for Monday, October 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Chesapeake Grove Intergenerational Center, 108 Chesapeake Street in Cambridge.

UM Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) recently hosted a community presentation at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton on orthopedic and rehabilitative services offered at The Orthopedic Center (TOC).

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) is hosting its Annual Sporting Clays Classic on Saturday, October 21, at The Point at Pintail in Queenstown. Proceeds from the event will be designated for the Wellness for Women program at the Clark Comprehensive Breast Center at UM SRH.

UM Shore Regional Health’s Senior Leadership team recently hosted post-COVID luncheons for team members in each of the five counties UM SRH serves — Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Talbot and Queen Anne’s — to celebrate the World Health Organization declaring an end to the COVID-19 public health emergency earlier this year and to honor all team members who served during the pandemic as “caregivers.”

A $5,200 donation used to purchase a new treadmill for patients was recently made by a member of Easton Elks Lodge #1622 in honor of UM Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation nurse Hope Meredith, RN, PCCN.

The Clark Comprehensive Breast Center at University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) marked the beginning of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a brief ceremony in front of the “pink ribbon tree” in the front circle of UM Shore Medical Center at Easton.

McCall “Mickey” Breuer, CNM, WHNP-BC, recently joined UM Shore Medical Group – Women’s Health. Formerly a provider with WomanWise Midwifery in Blue Bell, Pa., her midwifery experience includes providing general benign gynecology, prenatal, OB triage, contraceptive and intrapartum and postpartum care. In outpatient and inpatient settings, she has managed patients with gestational hypertension, pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes.

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health’s plans for construction of a new Regional Medical Center (RMC) in Easton have moved a step forward as hospital officials have received notice that the Maryland Health Care Commission has docketed the application for the project’s Certificate of Need (CON). 

The University of Maryland Shore Regional Health Shore Community Outreach Team (SCOT) provided blood pressure screenings, HbA1c assessments, and community case management information on August 28 at Mt. Olivet Church in Galena, Md., during the Maryland Food Bank's Mobile Market. Community members attending the event could shop the truck, participate in health screenings and visit other booths hosted by the Kent County Health Department.
