UM Shore Regional Health offers several nuclear medicine procedures, including bone scans, biliary scans or HIDA scans, a gastric emptying study, thyroid uptake and scan, and a sestamibi parathyroid scan. Nuclear medicine is a medical specialty involving the application of radioactive substances in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
