Chief Quality, Safety and Experience Officer

Sherri Hobbs was named Chief Quality, Safety and Experience Officer in March 2020, after serving as interim Chief Quality, Safety and Experience Officer since December 2019. She joined University of Maryland Shore Regional Health in February 2019 as the Director of Patient Safety.

Prior to joining UM SRH, Hobbs spent three years as Director of Continuous Measurement and Improvement at Union Hospital of Cecil County, where she was responsible for quality, performance improvement, data management and infection prevention. In total, Sherri has more than 11 years of progressive quality and patient safety leadership experience in hospitals and ambulatory settings, developing and growing programs related to high reliability, adverse event management, caregiver distress and burnout, and robust performance improvement.

Hobbs earned a diploma in nursing from Beebe School of Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Wilmington University, a Master's of Science in Nursing Education from South University and Master of Science in Management in Healthcare Administration from Wilmington University. She has been a registered nurse for 16 years and has a clinical background in perioperative nursing. Hobbs holds certifications in healthcare quality and patient safety. She is the current president of the Maryland Association for Healthcare Quality and serves on the Education Commission for the National Association for Healthcare Quality.
