Diane "Dee" Murphy, DHA
Diane (Dee) Murphy joined University of Maryland Shore Regional Health as chief quality officer in August 2018 from Northwest Health, Arkansas, where she served as system chief quality officer. In that capacity, she provided oversight for quality and performance improvement for five acute care hospitals and 35 physician practices. In December 2019, Murphy was named vice president, Support Services for UM Shore Regional Health.
Murphy is an experienced healthcare executive. Her leadership experience includes diverse project management, working with construction, facilities and clinical teams. In her role as vice president of Support Services, Murphy provides leadership over all aspects of Shore Regional Health's Support Services, including facilities/plant operations, biomedical engineering, environmental services, security services, and food and nutrition services. This scope includes UM Shore Medical Centers at Chestertown, Dorchester and Easton, as well as all off-site facilities and locations operated by UM Shore Regional Health.
Previously, she was the chief quality officer at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center; she also served as a U.S. Navy nurse and a surveyor at the Joint Commission. The time she served in positions in Arizona and Arkansas saw her lead functions, such as performance improvement, project management, risk and quality.
Murphy's educational credentials include a Doctor of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix; a Master of Science in education from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb; and a Bachelor of Science in nursing from East Carolina University.
