Neurological

When you or a loved one suffers a stroke, quick diagnosis and treatment are critical. The same is true for rehabilitation – the earlier you start a rehab program after a stroke, the better your chances of overcoming complications and regaining lost skills. At the UM Rehabilitation Network, we understand the complexities of stroke rehab. We partner with patients and their families to help them overcome the physical, psychological and emotional hurdles they face during recovery and get them back to doing the things they love.

Comprehensive and Compassionate Care

Individuals who experience a stroke can face a wide range of challenges related to mobility, completing daily living skills, swallowing, and language. At the UM Rehab Network, our team of specialists develops a comprehensive rehabilitation program that includes physical, occupational and speech therapy, social and cognitive retraining, and education to help patients overcome these challenges. Some of the unique programs that UM Rehab Network patients benefit from include the following:

  • Aphasia conversation groups
  • Balance therapy
  • Community stroke exercise classes
  • Stroke support groups
  • Swallowing clinics
