About Me

Vontrese Warren is an obstetrics and gynecology specialist. She has particular interest in reproductive health.

For as long as she can remember, Warren has had a strong interest in practicing medicine. Some of her earliest memories are of her playing as an ER provider on a CD-ROM game her dad bought for her, reading medical-themed biographies like Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story—written by Dr. Ben Carson himself—and learning about Henrietta Lacks. Lacks' life story inspired Warren to learn more about reproductive health disparities among women of color. She developed a fascination with the miracle of childbirth and a deep passion for women’s health.

What Warren likes most about her practice is having the opportunity to teach women, men and children about their reproductive health. She has found that a large number of people have inaccurate information or little to no knowledge about their reproductive health. She takes pride in helping communities learn and understand more about themselves so we can all live healthier lifestyles.

Before joining the team at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, Warren co-owned a reproductive health care practice in an urban community that didn’t have access to specialized women’s health care for miles. Upon moving to the DMV area, she discovered that there were many opportunities, though none that were right for her. When she interviewed with UM Charles Regional, she felt the same comfort, compassion and excitement as she did when she had her practice, which made her feel the UM Charles Regional care team would be the perfect fit for her.

Warren's past experiences with patients have helped mold her for new patient relationships. Her experiences have always been born of continuous learning. She has enjoyed educating and building trust and having a great rapport with her patients over the years and looks forward to continuing her journey at UM Charles Regional.
