About Me

Dr. Lee specializes in anesthesiology and pain medicine. His clinical interests include complex regional pain syndrome, opioid-induced hyperalgesia and low-dose naltrexone therapy. He also has special interests in multidisciplinary pain management therapy for cancer and non-malignant pain syndromes.

Dr. Lee's primary goal is to reduce the discomfort and improve the function of each patient with their safety in mind. He believes the key to managing pain involves is an individually structured, multimodal approach consisting of medication management, interventional therapy, physical therapy, pain psychology and alternative medicine. He and his team offer a multimodal approach to pain management that involves optimizing medical therapy by using multiple classes of medications.

"A person cannot function well without proper pain control, but I also have witnessed that too many medications may interfere with function rather than help the patient," Dr. Lee says.

Dr. Lee has been an assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at University of Maryland School of Medicine since 2007. He also served as chairperson of the University of Maryland Medical Center Pain Committee. He received his medical degree from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. He completed his anesthesiology residency and his pain medicine fellowship at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Lee has given lectures and presentations at local and national meetings.
