About Me
Patricia Widra, M.D. received her M.D. from Rutgers University School of Medicine in NJ and completed her training in Psychiatry at Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Widra has worked in Reproductive Psychiatry since 1998 when she developed the postpartum depression screening program for the OB/GYN Department at Georgetown Medical Center. In her private practice, prior to rejoining the faculty at University of Maryland, she continued to work with women in managing psychiatric disorders before and during pregnancy. She returned to University of Maryland last October to develop a Women's Mental Health Program, which now includes integration of screening and evaluation of PMADs at four sites. She is a member of Postpartum Support International, Perinatal Mental Health Society and the Baltimore Perinatal Mental Health Professional Study Group.
In addition to treating women in the perinatal period, she provides psychiatric consultation to patients treated in the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenbaum Comprehensive Cancer Center and participates in their multidisciplinary supportive services program.
