About Me
Dr. Rao is a highly skilled laparoscopist and robotic surgeon, he has clinical expertise in the surgical and medical management of endometrial, ovarian and cervical cancers. He also has a special interest in ovarian low malignant potential tumors. A believer in personalized cancer care, he is committed to providing all patients and families with the specialized treatment they need and deserve.
Dr. Rao's research interests include clinical trials for the prevention of chemotherapy-related complications. He was named a 2020 "Top Doctor" in the specialty of gynecologic oncology by Baltimore magazine.
Dr. Rao is associate professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, and fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
