About Me

Dr. Englum, a general pediatric surgeon, treats the breadth of pediatric surgical disease, from hernias and cysts to complex congenital anomalies and pediatric cancers. He specializes in pediatric cancer resection, including that for neuroblastoma, Wilms tumor, hepatoblastoma and rare pediatric cancers. He has particular interest in minimally invasive surgery for congenital anomalies, such as tracheoesophageal fistula, duodenal atresia and congenital diaphragmatic hernia.

Dr. Englum believes that success as a pediatric surgeon requires a deep understanding of childhood disease, years of surgical experience, and a passion for building relationships with children and their families. He thrives on opportunities to help children and treat a wide range of pediatric diseases.

Dr. Englum earned his medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He went on to complete his general surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, and his pediatric surgery fellowship at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been a faculty member at University of Maryland School of Medicine since 2019.
