Primary care physicians (PCP) are doctors and advanced practice providers who specialize in family medicine or internal (adult) medicine. Your PCP is your healthcare partner and advocate. You and your PCP build a relationship as he or she gets to know you, your family and your health history and provides care over the long term. Your PCP is focused on helping you maintain optimal health.

Treatments and Additional Care

  • Your PCP can treat common conditions, including illnesses due to infection and minor injuries, as well as Counseling on diet and nutrition
  • Help managing chronic conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes
  • Screenings for early diagnosis of health issues such as heart disease or cancer
  • Vaccinations

Should you need advanced care, your PCP will refer you to specialists and coordinate your care from treatment to wellness.
