University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center (UM CRMC) hosted a dedication ceremony and recognition on Tuesday, November 5, to formally name The Bill and Julie Dotson Imaging Center.

The event was held inside the UM Charles Regional Medical Pavilion near the intersection of Washington Avenue and Rosewick Road in La Plata. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan was in attendance to help celebrate the occasion.

The center’s new name is in recognition of a six-figure gift made by the Dotsons, which has helped make possible the wide array of diagnostic and treatment services available to patients in Southern Maryland.
Bill and Julie Dotson are prominent local business leaders who actively support many worthy causes in the community. Bill is the owner of Modern Door & Equipment Sales in White Plains, and Julie owns Centerpiece Boutique in La Plata.

“We are so grateful for the Dotsons’ generosity and their great desire to ensure that Southern Maryland residents have access to the best health care,” said Susan Mudd Vogel, Executive Director of the Charles Regional Medical Center Foundation. “We are honored to dedicate the Imaging Center in their name and recognize their philanthropy.”

The Bill and Julie Dotson Imaging Center, in partnership with UM CRMC, offers a range of technology and services, including breast biopsies, mammograms, 3D mammograms, MRI, CT scans, ultrasounds, bone densitometry (DEXA), X-ray and arthrograms. The team is led by board-certified radiologists Bolivia Davis, MD, and Gauri Khorjekar, MD.

The center is one of three outpatient practices at the Pavilion, along with UM Charles Regional Rehabilitation and UM Charles Regional Medical Group – Primary Care. Additional space in the building will soon be used for neurology, orthopedic surgery, endoscopy, general surgery and gastroenterology.
