Top Workplaces USA

Glen Burnie, MD – University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center (UM BWMC) was recently awarded the 2021 Top Workplaces USA Award. The award was based on employee feedback gathered by the employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. In addition to naming overall winners for Top Workplaces USA, winners were announced in the following industries: Financial Services, Technology, Healthcare, Nonprofit and Manufacturing.

"We are thrilled to be recognized as a national Top Workplace and we credit this award to our amazing staff," said UM BWMC President and CEO Karen Olscamp. "Our team of health care professionals bring a sense of purpose and pride to work every day when caring for our patients and this recognition is a direct reflection of what makes UM BWMC a great place to work."

The Top Workplaces USA award is open to all organizations with 150 or more employees in the United States, and that achieve a response rate to the Workplace Survey of 35 percent or higher. Currently, the award is open to all industries except those that are primarily regional, such as local real estate agents/brokers, local hotels and K-12 educational institutions.

The national award program recognizes those organizations across the country that have exceeded key facets of workplace culture. Recipients of the 2021 Top Workplaces USA award were selected based on results from Energage's anonymous, research-based employee engagement survey that is powered by findings from 14 years of research and data from over 23 million employees across 70,000 organizations. UM BWMC was among national award winners that include Progressive Insurance, Edward Jones, Ace Hardware and the Cleveland Clinic.
