System Website FAQs
On March 13, 2018, UMMS and its entities launched a new consumer-facing system website.
As the digital “front door” to UMMS, our websites are the first introduction to the medical system for countless patients, health care providers, researchers, donors and prospective employees.
For the first time, all affiliate websites share a unified look and functionality that provides users with a seamless online experience, regardless of how they find UMMS or an entity online. Below you will find answers to frequently asked questions.
Why did we redesign our websites?Toggle accordion item
In today’s consumer-driven environment, it is necessary for UMMS to offer a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate website. Consumer research highlights the need to offer a digital platform that provides easy-to-use tools and relevant information that consumers have come to expect when spending time online.
The sites are responsive, meaning the content and navigation are optimized and accessible no matter what device (i.e. phone, tablet, desktop) they are using to access information.

Is the content that was on our old site in place on the new site?Toggle accordion item
In most instances, yes. There were areas where information was consolidated or moved based on user testing with the goal of providing the best user experience for our customers.
We reviewed analytics to see where customers were spending time on the site. Some content that had not been accessed in close to a year was removed, with the approval of the entity marketing teams.
Were all UMMS websites moved to the new system site?Toggle accordion item
The UM Capital Region Health and UMMS Health Plan sites were not migrated to the new system site at this time; they will move to the new site in the next 6-8 months.
