Vincent See, MD, cardiac electrophysiologist, and Mukta Srivastava, MD, interventional cardiologist, and the UMMC cardiology team, treated a 78-year-old woman with atrial fibrillation who came to the University of Maryland Medical Center concerned about the blood thinner she was taking. The medication had triggered a hemorrhage in her gastrointestinal tract that required nine units of blood to treat.
