Ankita Khandai, M.D.
Medical School: Rush Medical College of Rush University Medical Center
I grew up in Aurora, IL with my parents and older brother. I then went south and attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville where I majored in Religious Studies and Molecular and Cell Biology and learned to say y'all and drink sweet tea. After college I moved to Philadelphia to serve with AmeriCorps at a Federally Qualified Health Center helping patients sign up for health insurance. I moved back to Chicago to go to medical school at Rush University where I learned that kids are way more fun to take care of than adults. I'm very excited to be training at Maryland and hope to become a primary care pediatrician with a focus on mental health and preventive medicine! Outside the hospital I love dancing (I'm trained in Odissi, a style of Indian classical dance and was on a hip hop team in high school and college), reading comic books and baking while rewatching the Great British Bake Off.
