Urania Dagalakis, M.D.
Medical School: Albany Medical College
I was born in Washington D.C. but lived for a few years as well as frequently traveled to Greece throughout my life to visit my Big Fat Greek family. When I was in the states I grew up in Potomac, MD which contributed to my love of all D.C. sports teams (Go Caps!!). I decided to venture down south to Atlanta to go to college at Emory University and double major in Political Science and Neuroscience as well as be pre-med. I returned to the DMV to complete an IRTA research fellowship at NIH as well as a Masters in Physiology and Biophysics at Georgetown University. After which I got to travel up north and experience the bracing winters of upstate New York while attending medical school at Albany Medical College. I’m thrilled to be back in my home state of Maryland for my dream job in pediatrics and have the opportunity to live and work in Baltimore. In my sporadic free time in addition to eating soft shell crabs as well as lots of feta and baklava I enjoy cooking with my husband and family, being active in the great outdoors, watching and sometimes even participating in organized sports. I’m so excited to be a part of the UMMC pediatrics family.
