Shubha Singh, M.D.
Medical School: University of North Dakota School of Medicine
I was born in New Zealand and grew up mostly in Fargo, North Dakota. Ya, You Betcha Fargo like the movie. I attended Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated with a B.A. in biology with a concentration in Community & Global Health. After college I had a research fellowship at National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences in North Carolina. I eventually found my way back to North Dakota and attended medical school. Pediatrics was my last rotation during my 3rd year. I found myself more curious about topics in pediatrics than any other in medicine. I can vividly remember the moment I realized I was going to be a pediatrician as I walked out of a patients’ hospital room early one morning, which is one of the best moments of my life. I have an interest in medical student education and hospital based medicine. I am excited to see how my pediatric career unfolds.
Outside of medicine I enjoy traveling and experiencing other cultures. Since this career path does not allow for regular travel I keep myself satisfied by cooking food from different countries and trying to learn about other cultures. I enjoy reading biographies about awesome people who do awesome things, like RBG, and autobiographies written by comedians. I am looking forward to taking every opportunity to explore and get to know the wonderful people of Baltimore.
