Rebka Tekeste, M.D.
Medical School: University of Maryland School of Medicine
I was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and moved to the United States at the age of 10 with my parents, two older brothers and one younger sister. I spent the next 8 years in Silver Spring, MD then moved to Baltimore, MD to attend Johns Hopkins University where I studied Molecular and Cellular Biology. I attended University of Maryland for medical school and loved my experience so much that I decided to stay for residency.
I absolutely love working with children and their families, so pediatrics is the best fit for me - I cannot see myself doing anything else. I am very excited to spend the next three years training at University of Maryland and look forward to pursuing a career in primary care.
I have a wonderful husband, Temesgen, and two beautiful children, 2-year-old Nathaniel and 4-month-old Grace. In my free time I enjoy taking walks with my family, reading with my kids, cooking, and going to church.
