Gloribel Olexa, M.D.
Medical School: University of Maryland School of Medicine
I grew up in Silver Spring, MD, just outside of DC, and had a successful babysitting career as a teenager, which is where I realized I really enjoy working with children. I went to University of MD, College Park for undergrad where I majored in Global Health Policy. During undergrad, I studied abroad in India studying public health and volunteered at free clinics in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. These experiences deepened my desire to become a pediatrician in order to help children in need. I love to travel all around the world, but MD is home! After four years at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Baltimore became a second home to me, and I was so happy to couples match with my husband here for my Pediatrics residency!
I love running along the Inner Harbor for the water views, going to yoga sculpt class at CorePower, going to concerts, and going out to eat in Baltimore. To give back to my community, my corgi Scooter and I volunteer with Pets on Wheels, a pet therapy organization in Maryland. I am excited to work in the hospital I trained in and have more time in Baltimore to eat at all the restaurants I didn’t get to as a med student!
