Emily Griffing, M.D.
Medical School: Georgetown University School of Medicine
I hail from St. Louis, MO, better known as "the Lou" to locals. After attending college at the University of Chicago, I moved back home to St. Louis to spend a year working with AmeriCorps at a Federally Qualified Health center in the pediatric clinic. I realized then that I loved spending time with children and watching them grow and learn so much over just a year. I moved to Washington, D.C. to complete a master's in physiology at Georgetown University. I stayed at Georgetown for medical school. I made a few trips up to the Baltimore harbor during medical school and fell in love with the delicious food and charming people! I did an away rotation at the University of Maryland in the pediatric department and found that this department had everything I was looking for in a residency program - friendly, supportive residents and staff, as well as the academic rigor of a large university. I am so grateful and happy to be back for residency! In my free time, I enjoy hiking and biking the many nature trails surrounding Baltimore, as well as baking and trying new cuisines!
