ACLS/BLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support)
The hospital requires the following programs to complete ACLS/BLS training:
- Internal Medicine
- Emergency Medicine
- Family Medicine
- OMF Surgery
- Neuro Surgery
- Thoracic Surgery
- Orthopaedic Surgery
The process for ACLS/BLS has been restructured due to COVID. We are no longer offering one 8 hour training day and there will not be specific dates or days assigned to the programs, as done in the past.
The residents will do the online modules for ACLS and BLS (depending on need), and only the skills session will be in-person. We will do half hour skills sessions, over a period of 2 weeks, June 20th - 30th, in order to get everyone in. Please look for an email with more information from Brandi Thomas, firstname.lastname@example.org.
**As a reminder- if the ACLS and/or BLS certifications expire within 6 months of starting, the trainee will need to renew in June. If the certifications expire 6 months or later, after their start date, they will renew at a later date and not in June.
For those programs requiring PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) training, please contact Karen Hardingham directly at 410-328-7532 or by email at email@example.com.
