Application Process - Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship
The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Department of Medicine, University of Maryland, Baltimore welcomes applications for our comprehensive fellowship program.
Applicants must be Board Eligible in Internal Medicine prior to starting our Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. This usually requires that the applicant is either currently enrolled in and will complete a 3-year residency, or has already completed a 3-year residency in an approved training program in Internal Medicine in the United States prior to fellowship. Applicants with competitive credentials are invited for interviews at our program.
We welcome applications from all qualified individuals irrespective of gender, racial or ethnic background, religious affiliation or marital status. All positions will be offered through the National Residency Match Program. The program currently offers 5 positions per year.
How to Apply:
We exclusively use the Electronic Residency Application Service, or ERAS, which is sponsored by the Association of American Medical Colleges (www.aamc.org). Applications are accepted through ERAS beginning July 1st of the year that the applicant is applying (12 months prior to anticipated start of fellowship training). All positions are offered exclusively through the National Residency Matching Program.
To submit applications through ERAS, applicants must contact the ERAS Fellowship Documents Office and request an electronic token, which is then used for access to the ERAS application site. We require that the following materials must be submitted through ERAS:
ERAS Common Application, including email address
Curriculum Vitae (ERAS format is acceptable)
Three Letters of Recommendation (at least three)
Medical School Transcript
MSPE (Medical School Performance Evaluation - Dean's Letter)
USMLE Transcript and Results
If applicable, a copy of your ECFMG certificate and Visa.
In order to achieve full consideration from our program, all applicants should submit the above required materials to ERAS in a timely manner.
