University of Maryland Medical Center Outpatient Rehabilitation Services provides assessment and treatment of various speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders.

Therapists utilize a wide variety of treatment approaches to address the needs of each individual patient.

We work with children and adults to improve:

  • Physical speaking abilities
  • Language expression and understanding
  • Swallowing function
  • Cognitive skills

This allows increased independence for participation in activities of daily living across settings (home, community, work, and school).

Licensed and certified speech-language pathologists work with each patient, their families, teachers and employers to evaluate strengths and areas for improvement. We also evaluate patient and caregiver goals to develop a custom treatment plan.
