UMMC neurosurgerons in a surgical suite.

UMMC’s residency in neurosurgery places residents at the forefront of treating neurological disorders.

New pilot studies in MRI-guided focused ultrasound offer a noninvasive approach to treating patients.

Neurosurgery research projects also include a recently-designed study in enhanced drug delivery to brain tumors.

Our funded clinical research is directed towards participation in multi- or single-center trials to manage stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral and intraventricular hemorrhage, and traumatic brain injury.

A clinical research manager and two research project coordinators support this research with funding from federal, industry, and private grants. Residents can receive funding and grants based on projects in the Neurosurgical Research Lab.
