Each year, health professionals from UMMC University and Midtown Campuses bring free medical checks and health information to the West Baltimore community at the "Spring into a Healthy Summer" and "Fall Back to Good Health" health fairs at Mondawmin Mall.
The event is free and open to the public. Participants are invited to take part in free vision, HIV, cholesterol, vascular and blood pressure screenings or to pick up information on a variety of subjects, such as diabetes, nutrition and smoking cessation.
The health fairs are sponsored by the University of Maryland Medical System as part of its ongoing community outreach, designed to help improve the health of people in Baltimore city, the region and the state. More than 50 health groups take part in the health fairs, including over 20 departments and programs from both UMMC campuses.
