Visitor Policy

Please see our Visitor Policy before coming to our facilities. In addition to our regular visiting hours and policies, additional restrictions are in place for visitors to all patients due to the coronavirus pandemic. Thank you for helping to keep our patients safe.

In order to enhance the safety of everyone on our campuses, all hospital visitors are required to stop at the visitor registration desk and register with a valid driver's license or other identification and have a photo ID taken. This information is used for the sole purpose of identification within the confines of the UM Upper Chesapeake Health system. Please wear appropriate visitor identification at all times.

At UM Upper Chesapeake Health, we encourage family and friends to visit patients staying with us. This information will help you plan your visit.

Where to Enter

Care Partners (visitors) should use the main lobby to enter between the hours of 5am and 8pm. At UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Aberdeen (UM UCMC Aberdeen), visitors should use the main entrance. At UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Bel Air (UM UCMC Bel Air), visitors should enter at the main entrance or, if appropriate, the Family Birthplace entrance, which is only for visitors to this unit. After these hours, visitors will enter through the Emergency Department entrance at both sites.

Guest Services

Our Guest Services team is here to help visitors as well as patients. We can provide a list of accommodations for relatives and guests from out of town. Also, our team can arrange for free interpretive services, which might include auxiliary aids, qualified interpreters, TTYs, written materials and closed captioning.
