Transforming Health Care in Harford County
University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health is transforming health care in our region. Slated to open in Fall 2023, the UM Upper Chesapeake – Aberdeen Campus will improve health care by increasing access to services, coordination efforts between hospital-based and community care providers and continuing to develop new models of care delivery supported by state-of-the-art technology. The Aberdeen campus will feature a modern freestanding medical facility with emergency and inpatient services and a variety of community specialty care. Meanwhile, in Bel Air, a newly constructed surgery center, an expansion of the emergency department waiting area, and added floors.

Campus features: Newly Constructed Medical Center on almost 60 acres: 3 levels including basement; 82,607 square feet Helipad: 2,500 square feet Emergency Room Treatment Bays: 20 (2 are resuscitation/trauma bays) Behavioral Health Crisis Emergency Room Bays: 4 Adult Observation/Short Stay rooms: 17 4 levels including basement; 93,000 square feet
