The Klein Family Harford Crisis Center provides 24/7 care for mental health and addiction issues. From our hotline (1-800-NEXT-STEP) and mobile crisis team to the urgent care walk-in clinic and residential services, we offer immediate access to services in a safe and comfortable environment.

The Crisis Center is managed by UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in partnership with the Harford County government, Healthy Harford/Healthy Cecil, Harford County Health Department, Office on Mental Health/Core Service Agency of Harford County, Inc. and the Affiliated Sante Group.

Ashley Addiction Treatment is located in the same building and provides an array of treatment services for people who are experiencing substance use conditions.

Services

Access to immediate treatment and coordination of care are two of the most important services needed in a crisis. Our 24/7 access is vital for timely assessment, stabilization and referrals to care and peer support.

24/7 hotline and Mobile Crisis Team

800-NEXT-STEP (800-639-8783) is a 24/7 hotline answered by a behavioral health expert with access to the Mobile Crisis Team and up-to-date information about behavioral health and substance use services in our region. Response is immediate, whether at home, work, school or in another community setting. In addition, the hotline is linked to 2-1-1 Maryland, a 24/7 statewide health and human services referral provider, to share resources and offer a seamless regional approach to people in crisis.

24/7 Behavioral Health Walk-in Urgent Care Clinic

Our Walk-in Urgent Care Clinic provides behavioral health assessments and crisis stabilization, brief intervention, care coordination and connection to additional resources when needed.

Outpatient Psychotherapy and Medication Management

This outpatient care service is for adults to help stabilize symptoms through medication evaluation and management, along with psychotherapy services. Our team will provide support for patients to transition to longer-term community providers once their symptoms are stabilized.

Appointments are required. Please call 410-874-0711.

Residential Crisis Services

Outpatient residential care is for adult guests who may need 24/7 behavioral health stabilization and supportive care. Services include assessment, treatment, behavioral health residential beds for short-term stays, group and individual psychotherapy, recovery and aftercare planning, care coordination and peer recovery support.

Treatment Support for All Ages

Though the Center is set up for adults, minors can be assessed at the Walk-in Urgent Care Clinic, and the Center will assist parents/guardians with age-appropriate options. We provide individualized and person-centered care in a safe, comfortable setting as we assist with coordinating ongoing treatment
