Amputee Rehabilitation
We are dedicated to providing comprehensive and compassionate rehabilitation and support to individuals who have undergone limb amputation. Our program is designed to match the experience, needs and goals of each person. As one of our patients, we will help you gain the strength and confidence needed to perform basic daily living skills and achieve independence. We offer rehabilitation for balance, gait training and any activity-specific training that will get you back to your hobbies and doing the things you love.

We provide a wide-range of treatments including:
  • Helping patients make necessary adjustments to their daily living routines
  • Pre-prosthetic exercises and mobility training
  • Custom-fitting and ongoing assessment and adjustment of prosthetic devices
  • Post-surgical care
  • Peer counseling
  • Patient and family support groups

Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinic
Typically the first Friday of each month, local vendors are in our rehab clinic to work with you on any issues you may have with a prosthetic or orthotic device, including settings and alignments. The clinic is an excellent opportunity for prosthetic/orthotic assessment; the vendors will work with your therapist to monitor your progress and whether any additional components for your device are needed.

Amputee Support Group
Our amputee support group meets monthly, generally on the first Wednesday of each month from 6-7:30 pm. Please visit umuch.org/calendar for details and locations.
