Emergency and Urgent Care

UM Upper Chesapeake Health offers comprehensive 24/7 emergency services at both of our hospitals and a separate Pediatric Emergency Department for kids from birth to age 18 at UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air. Our experienced and highly skilled team of physicians and nurses treat every patient as timely as possible and with the most effective emergency care.

Here is a list of possible serious illness and injuries we treat as emergency care:

  • Allergic Reactions
  • Breathing problems
  • Heart problems (including chest or arm pain)
  • Stroke
  • Loss of consciousness or seizure
  • Severe dizziness
  • Stomach or Chest pain
  • Infant illness
  • Poisoning or Drug overdose
  • Severe burns
  • Cuts, punctures, bites
  • Child, spouse or elder abuse
  • Mental health problems, such as hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren't there), threat or suicide attempt, other change in mental status
  • Rape, assault or other injury sustained during a violent crime
