Jim Hursey joined UM UCH as senior vice president/chief operating officer in 2011. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics, a Masters in Business Administration and has extensive experience in both the acute care and ambulatory arena.
Prior to joining UM UCH, Jim served as the COO for the largest Federally Qualified Health Center in the Mid-Atlantic region, advancing community health for underserved populations. Jim’s acute care experience spans over 20 years, including 16 years at Greater Baltimore Medical Center, where he served as the senior vice president over business development, planning, strategy, decision support and ambulatory development.
Jim held a similar role with St. Joseph Medical Center for nearly four years. Patient safety and quality have been a core foundation of Jim’s leadership philosophy.
