Lyle SheldonLyle Sheldon is President and CEO of University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, an award winning health system that has received state and national recognition for quality care and innovative patient safety initiatives.

The system includes two acute care hospitals, UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center and UM Harford Memorial Hospital; a physician enterprise of 85 doctors; the Bob Hooper House, an assisted living facility that specializes in hospice; and the Upper Chesapeake Health Foundation.

Lyle has been with our hospitals since 1987 when he came on board as vice president and chief operating officer and has served as president and chief executive officer since 1995.  A fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives since 1995, Lyle is active in community health initiatives and has received multiple leadership awards during his career from many regional and national organizations. 

When he isn’t tackling the challenges of health care, Lyle is cycling around Harford County. He is a longtime Havre de Grace resident and a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
