UM Shore Medical Center at Easton recently received re-designation for five years as a Primary Stroke Center from the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS).

UM Shore Regional Health’s Laboratory Services Department recently sent a “We Care” package to the lab team at Uvalde Memorial Hospital in Uvalde, Texas, following the tragic Robb Elementary School shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead.

Following a nationwide search, the University of Maryland Medical System (UMMS) has named Tammy Saunaitis, FAHCE, CPC, as the System's new Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective August 1st.

University of Maryland Shore Regional Health (UM SRH) and Talbot County Department of Emergency Services (DES) honored the late Gary Jones, former Director for the Heart and Vascular Center at UM Shore Medical Center at Easton, for his more than 50 years of service and advancements to advanced life support and cardiovascular services with a small event with family, colleagues and community members earlier this month.

The University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center has added a running center to its Rehabilitation practice. Runners will work with a physical therapist to improve performance and recover from and prevent injuries.

For the fifth year in a row, the University of Maryland Children's Hospital (UMCH) is identified as a national leader in pediatric heart care by U.S. News & World Report. Recognizing UMCH as a "Best Children's Hospital" for Pediatric Cardiology & Heart Surgery, U.S. News & World Report also lauded UMCH as the #2 children's hospital in the state, and one of the top 15 children's hospitals in the Mid-Atlantic region, which encompasses Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.

UM Shore Medical Center at Chestertown is now recognized by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as a Healthy People 2030 Champion.
