University of Maryland Heart Network doctors and surgeons are among the region’s most experienced in diagnosing and treating all types of heart conditions. You will receive the highest level of care for cardiac screening, prevention and intervention across the state.

We treat heart conditions that include:

  • Aortic disease – Aneurysm (bulge) and dissection (tear), are conditions affecting the aorta, the body's largest blood vessel
  • Arrhythmia – Irregular heartbeats caused by disorders of the heart's electrical system
  • Congenital heart disease – Heart abnormalities present at birth
  • Heart attack – Fatty deposits clog or block blood flow from coronary arteries to the heart
  • Heart failure – The heart can't pump enough blood through the body
  • High blood pressure – The pressure of the blood flow against artery walls becomes too high; aka hypertension
  • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy – Thickening of the heart muscle that makes the heart work harder while limiting blood flow
  • Limb preservation – Preventing leg loss due to diabetes or peripheral artery disease
  • Peripheral vascular disease – Blockages or blood clots in blood vessels in the lower leg
  • Pulmonary hypertension – A lung disorder causing high blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries
  • Valve disease – Conditions affecting the heart valves can disrupt blood circulation
