The Tate Cancer Center is Celebrating Its 15th Anniversary

We saw our first patient on February 24, 2003 and have cared for more than 15,000 patients since then. We recognized all of the providers, staff and volunteers that touch our patients’ lives with a lunch on February 21. There will be a more formal anniversary celebration in the fall.

Heartbeat for Health

The Tate Cancer Center participated in the annual Heartbeat for Health on February 10 at the YMCA in Arnold, MD. The fun filled event drew over 500 attendees, and offered screenings, exercise opportunities and entertainment.

Save The Date

We will be hosting the second annual Minimally Invasive Cancer Care Symposium on May 9, 2018 from 4 – 9pm. We plan to share our knowledge, skills and experience using the most updated tools, treatment strategies and targeted therapies in minimally invasive cancer care.

Dr. Galen Ohnmacht, our chair of thoracic surgery, participated in a lung screening segment on the November 28, 2017 WJZ TV newscast demonstrating the effectiveness of lung screening.

Survivorship Conference

Beth Danner, one of our Survivorship NPs, will be attending the first annual survivorship conference on March 7 entitled "Fostering Resilience in Cancer Survivors," which is being sponsored by Dr. Kenneth Miller from the UMGCCC.
