Shivani S. Patel, MD

A dermatologist, Dr. Patel enjoys seeing patients of all ages. Her medical areas of interest include:

• Acne
• Atopic dermatitis/eczema (skin condition that causes inflammation, redness and intense itching)
• Birthmarks (including infantile hemangioma, a red birthmark made up of extra blood vessels in the skin, appearing at birth or in the first month of life)
• Moles
• Psoriasis
• Skin cancers

Dr. Patel graduated as valedictorian of her medical school class from the Medical University of South Carolina, where she was elected president of medical honors society Alpha Omega Alpha. She served as chief resident during her dermatology residency. During her training, she was awarded the Frank L. Coulson Jr. Award for Clinical Excellence in patient care. She received advanced laser training during her pediatric dermatology fellowship for the treatment of vascular birthmarks, including port-wine stains.

Dr. Patel is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Society for Pediatric Dermatology.
